Barjeel Art Foundation "Recent Acquisitions" exhibition
A number of Thuraya's historic works were displayed in Barjeel Art Foundation's "Recent Acquisitions" exhibition in Sharjah, UAE. The foundation describes her as the following: "Another notable artist that will be part of this display is Kuwait’s Thuraya Al Baqsami, a pioneering female master who has been practicing in the Gulf since the 1960s. Al Baqsami has traveled widely, and studied art in Egypt, Russia and Senegal, participating in numerous solo and group exhibitions across several continents.
